Sufjan Stevens Offers Xmas Xchange

As announced by Asthmatic Kitty Records, Sufjan Stevens will be enjoying the spirit of Christmas by trading a present w/ one of his listeners. The gift will be something that Stevens knows well; music. To participate, fans should write an original Christmas song, record it, and then e-mail the song to Asthmatic Kitty. The record label will review the songs and pick their favorite. The person who wrote and recorded this song will then exchange the rights to their song for the rights to a Stevens song.
As Asthmatic Kitty says on their website, ”Just like a gift exhange, Sufjan's song becomes your song. You can hoard it for yourself, sell it to a major soft drink corporation, use it in your daughter's first Christmas video, or share it for free on your website. No one except Sufjan and you will hear his song, unless you decide otherwise. You get the song and all legal rights to it.”
