New My Bloody Valentine / New Jesus & Mary Chain

Billboard.com announced today that The Jesus & Mary Chain are readying their new album, the first from the band since 1998’s Munki. Jim and William Reid reunited for a live set this past summer for the Coachella festival. The show, which was intended to be a one-time event, resulted in an official reunion of the band. Today it was revealed that the sibling-artists are in the process of song selection for their forthcoming album. The album is planned to be released in late spring / early summer, 2008.
Meanwhile, the rumors that have been surrounding another pivotal band, My Bloody Valentine, have been confirmed true: MY BLOODY VALENTINE WILL BE RELEASING A NEW ALBUM. The album will be released digitally, w/ a possible vinyl release as well. Band manager Vinita Joshi confirmed that Kevin Shields has reunited his old band w/ plans on hitting the studio next month. This release will be the first from the band since 1991’s classic Loveless.
