Soundsect.com, a music-based website, is working toward
becoming the internet’s premier source for news,
reviews, and editorial on underground and nontraditional
music. Soundsect focuses on a number of different genres,
including: Independent Rock, Post-industrial, Ebm, Breakcore,
Glitch, Chiptune, Minimal, Turntablism, Ambient, IDM,
Dronology, Lowercase, Psybient, Post-Punk, Shoegaze,
Lo-fi, Slowcore, Independent Hip-Hop/Rap, Deathrock,
Dance Punk, and Goth.
We are currently looking for avid music fans with strong
writing skills to pen reviews. Writing responsibilities
are divided into two positions: Staff Writers and Freelance
Writers.
Staff Writers are talented people who will submit a
set number of album reviews at regular intervals. This
position is involved. It requires active participation
on our forum and continuous communication between yourself
and the Editor. Every staff member of Soundsect’s
writing team is directly responsible in molding the
shape of the website!
Freelance Writers are people who love to write, but
do not have the time or desire to be a permanent member
of Soundsect. These people review albums that they buy
and submit their writings for our consideration. Freelance
Writers love music as much as we do and we appreciate
the support that they give us!
We set-up a loose set of guidelines in an effort to
promote continuity between our different writers,
but are very careful not to stifle anyone’s
creative style. If you are interested in joining our
writing team, please send a brief writing sample that
details your area of musical expertise to: richie@soundsect.com
(It should be noted that Soundsect does not look to
make a monetary profit. The site, and all of the work
involved with running it, is a tribute to all of the
music that we love. As such, we cannot pay our reviewers).
